Responded to no-cool complaint on 2-year-old 2.5-ton system serving 2200 square foot residence. Upon inspection, discovered severely restricted airflow due to completely clogged air filter and significant debris accumulation including dried leaves and organic material throughout the evaporator coil and air handler cabinet. Previous contractor had misdiagnosed the issue as compressor failure requiring hard start kit without performing basic maintenance checks. Removed and cleaned extensive debris from evaporator coil housing and surrounding areas. Replaced heavily soiled air filter with proper specification filter. Verified all electrical connections, refrigerant pressures, and system operation. System restored to proper cooling operation with adequate airflow and temperature differential across coil. Discussed proper filter maintenance schedule and recommended follow-up coil cleaning to address remaining buildup on evaporator fins.

# HVAC Service Report

Responded to new customer air conditioning system experiencing significant frost and ice buildup on evaporator coil and ductwork components. Upon inspection, discovered extensive crystalline ice formation covering metal surfaces throughout the air handling unit, indicating restricted airflow or refrigerant system issues. Performed diagnostic testing using clamp meter to measure electrical parameters, recording amperage draw of 19.2A and voltage reading of 233V to assess compressor and system performance. Ice accumulation pattern suggested potential low refrigerant charge, restricted airflow from dirty filter or coil, or malfunctioning expansion valve causing improper refrigerant metering. System required defrost cycle completion before further diagnostics could be performed. Documented conditions with photographic evidence for service records and customer reference.

Responded to callback for floor cooling unit not cooling properly after previous day's refrigerant charging service. Upon inspection, discovered significant frost accumulation on evaporator coil surface, indicating potential overcharge condition or restricted airflow. Verified supply air temperature reading of 68.7°F, which is insufficient for proper cooling operation. Consulted manufacturer's operating performance specifications and pressure charts to determine correct system parameters. Identified refrigerant overcharge as primary issue causing improper system operation and frost formation. Recovered excess refrigerant and adjusted charge to manufacturer specifications based on operating pressures and ambient conditions. Verified proper airflow across evaporator coil and confirmed system returned to normal operating temperatures and pressures. Unit cycling properly with adequate cooling capacity restored.
